Christmas has come and gone and I’m not sure how I feel about it. This is a time of year that goes by way too fast! The time between Christmas and the New year is always a blur. Like Woah what day even is it?!
The week of Christmas I had all kinds of fun things planned out to do with the littles. I had been so busy lately and feeling some major mom guilt. I was so excited to just finally clear my schedule and get some downtime with the kiddos. Im big on Christmas traditions and was ready to complete my list of them! But thennnnn…… the Flu paid the three of us a nice little visit. Well more like it decided to park its behind at our house for 5 days and man was it rough! With that being said, the majority of my little Christmas traditions went down the drain! lol It’s funny how God will slow you down just when you need it. I am still very grateful for all the fever induced cuddles.
Just a few days before Christmas Eve we were able to squeeze in a few of our Christmas traditions. Reading all our Christmas favorites while cuddled in bed and making some of our favorite Christmas treats! Some of our favorites to make are Chocolate covered Oreo’s. These are always a favorite and so easy for the little ones to help decorate without making a major mess! They have become a Christmas staple in our house.
The Elf on the Shelf has become another huge tradition in our house. This thing sure can be a pain in the butt but the joy it brings Rafe is priceless. These moments of magic are fleeting and I enjoy watching his face light up every time Rudy has gotten into something else. Rudy has been part of the family almost as long as Rafe and I think we will let him stay 🙂
In conclusion, even though we didn’t get to complete my list of Christmas traditions and to-dos, what we did get to do was spend lots of time together. Sick or not. Ill take any moment I can holding these babies before they are too big to hold.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours! Better late than never right 😉
P. S. This is how Cam currently feels about Christmas being over.
